Some pieces stay with you long after you've left a place. This is one of them.

Echoes of Knossos began after my visit to the Palace of Knossos in Crete, where I stood in the Queen's Megaron and saw the famous dolphin fresco that has inspired people for thousands of years. Being surrounded by ancient art, mythology, and history was something I'll never forget, and I knew one day I'd create my own interpretation of that feeling.

This painting has been with me for over two years. Although she was finished more than once, I always found myself coming back, adding another detail, another layer, trusting that I'd know when she was truly complete.

Rather than recreating the ancient fresco, I wanted to imagine it through the world of ShellNova - celebrating the beauty, movement, and mystery of the Mediterranean.

To complete the piece, I designed and handcrafted a decorative gold frame inspired by ancient Greek architecture and ornament. The frame became part of the artwork itself, creating the feeling of discovering a forgotten treasure from another time.

For me, this painting is about wonder. It's about standing in a place where people lived, painted, imagined, and believed thousands of years ago, then bringing a little of that magic into the present through colour, creativity, and my own artistic voice.

Every brushstroke carries part of that journey.
